Pacific Regional Comprehensive Center
How We Do The Work
The Pacific Regional Comprehensive Center (PRCC) employs multiple strategies to provide responsive and effective technical assistance that builds State Education Agency (SEA) capacity to:
- Establish organizational structures and performance management systems that support SEA and federal priorities;
- Lead and sustain educational transformation efforts to provide high-quality supports and services to educational systems, complex areas, and schools;
- Advance innovative and effective strategies and technology that improves teaching and learning for all students.
Strategy 1 – Ensure Commitment of Chief State School Officers & Regional Jurisdictions
PRCC convenes all regional chief state school officers at an annual advisory board meeting, and meets with each chief state school officer and his or her respective leadership teams at least twice a year to discuss key initiatives, SEA priorities, and the jurisdiction’s work plan. In addition, the PRCC brings the jurisdictions together through jurisdiction specific and regional communities of practice to share approaches, resources, lessons, and results in areas of common concern.
Strategy 2 – Deliver Relevant Research & Technical Assistance Expertise
PRCC, in collaboration with the Content Centers, Regional Education Laboratories, and other federal Technical Assistance (TA) providers, delivers evidence-based and culturally responsive research and TA expertise to fulfill SEA annual work plans and address specific jurisdiction needs.
Strategy 3 – Build Capacity for Needs Assessment, Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
PRCC offers capacity building and TA to identify and address the needs of each regional jurisdiction, and uses both internal and external evaluation mechanisms for continuous improvement of service delivery.
Strategy 4 – Promote Partnerships & Collaboration
PRCC partners with Content Centers, other Comprehensive Centers, Regional Educational Laboratories, Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs, and other TA providers to coordinate, leverage and maximize available resources.
